Mid course project – Solution to 2D heat conduction equationIn this project, the candidates will write several solvers to solve the 2D heat conduction equation. Here is a list of methods that the candidates will incorporate Implicit Transient FTCS scheme, Explicit Transient FTCS with CFL_nu based time step control, Solving steady state heat equation using Jacobi, Gauss Seidel and SOR.

**Next is Mastering Linux Command Line**

In this chapter, the attendees will learn everything from file system navigation to data processing inside a Linux Operating System. Linux is a popular platform when it comes to CAE applications and hence it is very important to understand the basics properly. In addition to this, we will be installing OpenFOAM in LinuxGetting started with OpenFOAMOnce we install OpenFOAM in the candidates’ machines, we will thoroughly analyze how the OpenFOAM solver works. We will look in to C++ routines and try to understand the solution procedure and numerics. Once we do that, we will compare the 2D code that you had written against OpenFOAM to understand areas where we can improve the candidate’s code.

**Finally, The Final Course Project –**

Solving 1D Compressible Inviscid Equations Using Maccormack MethodIn this final project, the candidates will solve the 1D compressible flow equations using Maccormack method. You will perform grid dependency study and also document the advantage of conservative form of the governing equations.
